Benin Environment & Education Society

The Benin Environment & Education Society, better known as BEES, was created in 2005 to implement community programs for sustainable development and sustainable management of biodiversity in Benin. The organization also engages in advocacy efforts, local planning and project management. The BEES organization is made up of natural resource management specialists and scientific researchers from the country’s largest universities. The founding members of the organization often act as volunteer resources, with experience in the management of natural resources, biodiversity, eco-health and environmental education and training. Projects include the Conservation of the habitat of the birds of Sô-Ava and Aguégués, the promotion of ecosystem-based adaptation in West Africa, as well as Plant for the planet, where BEES focuses on reforestation efforts in Benin
